Creamy Delta Bisque

This soup is so simple to prepare - just add 5 cups of milk and butter (if you choose to) then simmer for about 30 minutes. Add your choice of meats or seafood - serve it in a bowl or over pasta - Your imagination will run wild with ways to enjoy Delta Bisque. These are some of our favorite creations:
Shrimp Bisque - Add fresh shrimp or Lauren Farms prawns and cook a few minutes extra.
Crab Bisque - Add fresh crabmeat or a can of crab.
Ham Bisque - Add 1 cup (or more) cooked chopped ham. Top each serving with grated cheese.
Broccoli Cheese Soup - Add 10 oz. box frozen broccoli and 8 oz. grated cheese.
Cream of Chicken - Saute chopped chicken in butter. Add mix, milk and cook as directed.
Alfredo Sauce - Add 1 cup or more, grated Parmesan cheese to the cooked hot soup.
Shrimp and Asparagus Bisque - Add fresh shrimp (or 1 can) and 1 can of asparagus (or diced, cooked fresh asparagus.
Spicy Louisiana Shrimp Bisque - Add shrimp, a can of Rotel tomatoes, a few diced, roasted red peppers to prepared Delta Bisque. Serve as a soup or tossed with cooked pastas.
After you've enjoyed your Creamy Delta Bisque (any way you've chosen to make it) then take what used to be called "leftovers" and create an entirely different main dish that we call a "Bonus Meal!" Here are some recipes for Bonus Meals or ways to make your Suppers Simple"
Suddenly Scrumptious Chicken Spaghetti Serves 8
16 oz grated cheddar cheese (or Velveeta)
3 cups prepared Creamy Delta Bisque
2 cups chicken broth
3 cups shredded cooked chicken
1 1/2 cups prepared Suddenly Salsa
16 oz. spaghetti, cooked and drained
In large saucepan, heat Delta Bisque, broth, Salsa and stir. Add cheese, stirring until it melts, then stir in chicken.
Add cooked spaghetti,mix gently and serve hot.
Spaghetti can be refrigerated for several days or placed in baking dishes and frozen until needed. Freezes well.
When ready to serve, thaw frozen spaghetti and bake until hot and bubbly.
Hot Seafood Dip:
Make a lot or a little using our "Bonus Meal" concept.
Add shrimp, crab, fish fillets, etc. to prepared Creamy Delta Bisque.
Add grated Swiss or cheddar cheese to melt and thicken the dip.
Serve warm with crackers, melba toast or in pastry shells
Judy's Pot Pie
2 cups prepared Creamy Delta Bisque
1 cup mixed frozen vegetables chicken broth
1/2 onion chopped
1 (or 2) package of Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits cut in pieces
1 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Mix all ingredients together by hand.
Place into a lightly buttered deep dish baker - reserving 1/2 cup of cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
Remove from oven and sprinkle on remaining cheese. Return to oven until cheese melts
Let stand for 15 to 20 minutes and then serve your home-made Pot Pie!
