Bananas Foster – A New Orleans Favorite

You will need:

     4 bananas
¼ to ½ cup of orange juice
¼ of a jar of Caramel Pecan Sauce

Optional: 1 tablespoon Brandy or Orange Liqueur

Slice the bananas into a large, flat skillet.  Pour the orange juice over the bananas so that they are just covered. Cook on a medium heat, stirring gently to insure that each slice has some orange juice over it – this will prevent the bananas from turning brown.  When the bananas are hot and bubbling, add the Caramel Pecan Sauce stirring gently to combine the Sauce and the hot juice. Continue to cook for about a minute.  The sauce will thicken and the bananas will soften. You can hold the Bananas at this point and reheat to serve later. Just before serving, add the Brandy and stir it gently into the hot sauce.  Serve hot over ice cream.  Serves 4 to 6
