Crown Loaf

The Crown Loaf

You will need:

1 or 2 boxes of Crown Loaf
2 to 4 tablespoons of butter

Follow the directions on the box of Crown Loaf. You can easily make this lovely soft bread on Thanksgiving Day. Just stir the batter up with a heavy spoon and pour it directly into a well buttered round cake pan! It will rise for about 2 hours and then bake it at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Rub the top of the loaf with more butter or margarine and set aside until you want to serve! It will reheat well and will freeze and THEN reheat!

Crowned Cheddar Loaf

You will need:

1 box of The Crown Loaf
2 tbsp. Oil (I like olive oil)
1 cup of coarsely grated sharp cheddar cheese
    Warm water
    1 tbsp. Butter or margarine

Make The Crown Loaf as directed on the box. When the dough is completely mixed, add the grated cheese to the dough stirring it in by hand. Don't try to mix it thoroughly, the flavor of the bread is better if the cheese is "streaky." Bake as directed for about 25 minutes. Take the bread out of the oven and rub the top well with butter or margarine. It is great warm, but the bread is just as good cold.
