Fudge Baked Alaska
You will need:
1 box of Mississippi Delta Fudge Pie
2 Oreo Pie Crusts
1 quart of Black Walnut Ice Cream
1 quart of Chocolate Ice Cream
6 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
Bake the Delta Fudge Pie according to instructions. Divide the pie batter into the two pie crusts and bake at 350 degrees just until done - about 25 to 30 minutes, because the pie is much thinner than normal. When the pies have cooled, fill the "shell" with layers of ice cream. I've suggested Chocolate and Black Walnut - but you know what your family likes best! Smooth and pack the ice cream layers, cover with plastic wrap and freeze for several hours. Make a stiff meringue with the egg whites and sugar and ice the pies with the meringue, being careful to bring the meringue right to the edges of the crust, so that the ice cream is well sealed into the meringue. Again cover with plastic wrap and freeze until ready to serve. Just before serving, preheat the oven to 450 to 500 degrees. Take the pies out of the freezer and place them immediately into the oven. They will brown nicely in a very few minutes. Remove from the oven and serve immediately!
